What is this?!

Really..

I thought this was extinct in my life.

Non-existent.

A traditional, paper goods, and glue, and scissors, and punches, layout.

   lynnie-rain_trad

There’s just something about touching all of these little, wonderful things..

Actually writing!

february 066

The physicality of it is just fun.

february 069

I’ve missed it for sure.

(I absolutely LOVE digital, don’t mistake me.)

But this feels good.

I had to make my craft room more of just that.  It has been more of a sewing room lately.

That, and looking at all the goods I have stashed away in there, I have to use them.  Have to.

(Although I think it’s safe to say, if there were a natural disaster of sorts, or another depression, I would be set with all things that are needed to craft.)

(It’s that bad people.)

(Or maybe good?)

A blast from the scrapbooking past.

scan0058
While sorting through ten years of scrapbooks and pictures, I came across this page I did when Lynn was just two.  I just love it so much!  I love to see how their special relationship has been firmly in place since she was small.
Such a sweet memory!
I am so thankful that I scrapbook..
Now I think I should catch up!

seven..

They are even traditionally scrapped...
You can count them!

Good news, I am getting caught up...
Better news, I can now do 6 more digital pages. :)
I do wish you could touch this paper..  it is flocked paper by Making Memories..  I saw it over a year ago, bought it, and love it!  I knew I had to use it on a Christmas layout.
The journaling:
memories..
this Christmas, the hotel was under construction so our pjs were Best Western themed.  everyone loved them!  brooke & austin were expecting tyler.  it was peyton’s first Christmas!  we were excited for that.  our Christmas was transportation theme it seemed..  lynn got a bike, ash got a scooter, and peyton got a ride on rolling horse.  we enjoyed our new gift, a cocoa maker.  we enjoyed spending the afternoon at mom and dad’s where the girls got another toy and we gave mom a new memory quilt to replace the one that got lost (kind of).  this one featured artwork from the grandkids.

One more down..

One more item on my "to do" list is done!!
Peyton's "quilt" which is now a duvet cover, is FINALLY done.

I had to re-work it, and re-work it again, into something that would work, and fit my vision.. I am more than happy with it, and she is too. :)
I think I am going to have to tally how many feet of stitching that is....

I am happy to say that there are more projects in store for her little room.
I also managed to scrap a couple of pages as well with my two hands and new paper trimmer.

Using the good, old fashioned scrap stuff is good for the soul.

Love these stickers I bought a while ago from Making Memories.
I am off to crochet a little on a hat for this project..
Will you be joining us?

Oh.. and there's one in there about my garden.. it's a re-do, after Christie introduced me to templates, and saved me and quite literally my sanity..

Catchin' up..

Here's one from a year ago..
I got inspiration from Becky Higgins' sketch in July's CK.
I happen to really like the outcome of this one.. I had to do a little tweaking on the last traditional paper one I did. I saw it again on my table and shuddered. It was an easy enough fix..
I am the only one who does that?

one traditional..and one digital..i love the elements and playfulness of the traditional, but digi beckons me... too many yummy and fun goodies out there!
i do need to see an eye doc soon.. i need my reading glasses more now doing digi and my left lens has issues.. i never have done a layout about getting those buggers. big event in my little life!

Flocking fun..

Nope, not meant to be a pseudo-swear :)
Real, crushed velvet flock from Doodlebug Designs.. one of my newest toys.Still catching up on the family album (I won't say how far back I REALLY am..) but am trying to hurdle over Peyton's birth pictures.. without crying on them.So here's the down-low on crushed velvet flock (if you don't already know.. it was new to me!)..
You can use glue pen, gluey stamp pad, double-sided tape, glue stick, or even your Xyron (I used my sticker maker).
1- Apply glue to whatever you desire to be flocked, you can even stamp an image, but don't make it goopy.
2- Over a scrap piece of paper (or other nifty tool used to catch extra stuff..), sprinkle your crushed velvet onto the glued area.
3- Shake extra off. Press the crushed velvet into the glue (see why you don't want it to be goopy :)..).
4- Transfer left over product back into the storage jar.Now I am off to fold more laundry (the never-ending task), and then enjoy some Double Stuffed Oreos with SKIM milk.. so do those two cancel each other out or what? :D

Getting my hands "dirty"..

It is so much fun doing digi..
But I do have a craving for the traditional!
I have been putting-off scrapping these pics, they are from a sweet moment in life that I miss just about everyday. I would be in heaven to be pregnant everyday!! Now Merrill, on the other hand, might not like that so much ;)It's hard too, to scrap them right now, because Peyton is the age Lynn (#1) was when I was pregnant with Ash (#2).. my body tells me I should be growing something right now :(
I kept working at these, thinking, "If I were doing these digi, they would be done already.." But hey, I am getting there!I love the new font!! I tracked down this font (I had American Crafts letter stickers in this font and I loved them sooo much..) it's Hello Kitty Cricut cartridge. Better yet, I found a website that was having a promo last week, 2 cartridges for $50.. so I have another cartridge to go get my hands dirty with!
I also did some Mother's Day cards. Love my butterfly punch.. another Internet hunt-down and find tool..Loving the pop-up dots too!

wish me luck?i loved the k.i memories overlay on this layout.. it was fun! took me a while (on and off for two days) to hand stitch it.. i didn't trust my sewing machine (or my skillz..)!!
