Hi.. my name is chubby...

Look at this kid! She really dislikes this coat. This was a rare moment when it was silly to her, so, I had to capture it! Reminds me of what we used to say as kids... "Hi. My name is chubby..." as we squished our cheeks together to look silly and distort our voices.
We had quite a day today... I'll post about it later.
Had a really good conversation with Jacks today. It is funny how we are on the same page as far as goals and desires for our families. It's also neat to know there are others out there who have similar concerns and struggles.
Things that happen every day, further testify to me, that I have a loving, kind, caring Father in Heaven, who puts people in our paths to uplift us and reaffirm what we already know to be true.

This is one to NOT post...

Well, maybe later...
Today Peyton had her 9 month check up. Everything was fine and normal, until Dr. Sutherland went to check her hip joints. He heard a click.
He kept asking me, "Do you hear that?" Which I did. He kept checking it, repeatedly. Then he proceeded to tell me about hip dysplasia.
Basically, her hip could be out of it's socket. It may be coming and going as it pleases. It might just be a fluke. He believes that it is nothing, but to be safe... we have to go to the hospital for an ultrasound on both of her hips. At first, we were going to have to take her to Primary Children's, I was not so happy about that. But he checked and McKay has a pediatric radiologist now, he started there July of this year (what a blessing!). They need to see if it is hip dysplasia, and if her bones have ossified, or hardened. If they have, she'll need surgery to re-set it. Then there will be possibly traction, then a cast, then a brace. If they haven't, it will be a cast, possibly for six weeks, or until her bones do ossify.
Merrill is worried, as he has every right to be. I am trying to teach him faith, by example, again. We'll put her name in the temple Saturday, mom will tomorrow, and Merrill will give her a blessing before I take her in next week. Not to mention all the prayers...
I have a feeling that it is nothing.
But we have to do this tom ensure it is nothing.
Mom said, "Don't iron your clothes until there are wrinkles in them."
I am worried about my happy, very mobile little girl, and her happiness if she is stuck in a cast for up to six weeks.
Yet, I know, that others have it far, far worse. There have also been others who have gone through this before.. it could be worse...
I worry...
Don't iron the clothes...

Teething...

It is official... Peyton is teething.
Runny nose... check.
Foul smelling poop... check.
Ornery... check.
Biting/chewing on EVERYTHING like a dog... check.
Here's proof of the gumming stuff:
Yes, even in the tub...
Here's a new one...
I tell the girls to go and clean their room, but not to put stuff underneath their beds... so they put stuff in between the mattress... that is some of Barbie's pants, just chillin' in their new home, between the box spring and the mattress... silly girls.
We went and renewed our temple recommends tonight. Thanks Kaitlyn for watching the girls and putting up with an unhappy Peyton... there's just something about that interviewing process that makes me want to sing my testimony from the highest roof top! The Stake offices were packed, with mostly Pitcher clan :) and a surprise visit from newly returned missionaries, The Evertsen's!!!, but it was well worth the wait. What a blessing it is to be able to attend the temple, and to have so many, so close!

Is it too early?

I just simply couldn't resist this morning... I had bought her the shirt last year after Christmas on clearance at Old Navy... and the jingle bow that Jaclyn made... too cute!
Usually we are kind of grinches around here until after Thanksgiving...
But today, our "Bah-Humbugs"... have turned into coos...

Stake Conference...

Let me first say, I had to pray and ask for help in improving my attitude first thing this morning.
It was our stake conference, the senior primary kids were singing, I was supposed to be at the tabernacle by 8:15.. for my family, yeah, right. Plan of attack, I was going to take Peyton and leave Merrill with the other two to get them ready and there by 9. It was kind of a headache planning all of the logistics last night, not to mention the getting to bed late part, kids who didn't sleep well... I could really go on. So I needed a higher power to help me get my attitude in check.
By the time conference started, my attitude had transformed. I didn't have to sit on the stand, like I had thought, Merrill and the girls were late, but it was of no matter to me. It was just Peyton and I, so relaxing and nice listening to the kids sing. I felt the Spirit. Conference was great. The message seemed to repeat itself to me, "Go to the temple"... Merrill and I were talking afterwards, I was telling him we really can start going once a month now that Peyton isn't attached to me (a much longer post for a time when I am feeling happier about it...) and we could make it a date, dinner maybe too? He isn't as gung-ho as I am, but we'll see if I can't get that to change ;) I know it has always been important to go, but during these times, we need to strengthen our home and fortify it as much as we can.
We also went to his parents home to eat Daddy-Suey (Dixon's chop Suey...) and fried rice. Darlene makes a fried rice that I would die for! We were also celebrating Kaitlyn's birthday (Happy Birthday Katie-McCookins!!!) And now I kick myself in the butt for not taking a pic of her gift.. I liked it :)...

And the winner is...

Julie!
Thanks to random.org, my new favorite place to go when I need some random pickin' done...
I'll get it to you soon!
Thanks for all of your "soupy" comments, it happens to be my favorite too, especially with a warm roll or yummy bread...
Keep watching! A new give away will come again soon.. you know I love them!

Pillowcase Dress...

Got a bigger pillowcase dress done for Peyton... the last one was more like a shirt.
I also took pictures of the process... just in case. I'll post them later with directions. I have a few key details that I NEED to remember! I made her a new bow to match too...
Love sewing...
We sluffed our Stake meeting tonight for a wedding reception. We probably could have made both if the city of Perry believed in well placed and well lit street signs... it took us a lot longer than planned to get there.
We stopped by the Harrisville Wal-Mart on the way home, and look what I found...
Aaahhhhh! (Angelic/Heavenly sounds accompany this..)
So I don't end up in the same predicament, I bought two... just in case.
