I can hardly believe it myself..
It has really been six years since this little girl entered our lives in an exciting emergency c-section, and she has filled it with more excitement along the way.
We started her day off presenting her “All About Me” poster in her kindergarten class. (I regret not having a pic of it, but oh well..)
Questions were asked of her, such as:
- What 2 foods do you love to eat?
(Her answer: turkey sandwiches and Mac ‘n chesse.)
- What do you dislike about kindergarten?
(Her answer: getting up in front of everyone.)
- What do you want to be when you grow up?
(Her answer: a ballerina [crossed out] weather woman.)
(Am I the only person who finds the contradiction there? She claims she won’t be afraid any more when she is grown-up…)
I tried to make the day as special as possible for her..
We went and got lunch from McDonalds (a rarity around here since someone is trying to save $$) and went to eat it with Merrill at work.
I spent more time on making decorations (to be used over and over and over again…) than I did on her cake. She said she wanted a Tiana cake. After all the layers were baked, and I was ready to assemble, she told me she wanted a horse..
Yeah, right.
We had a special birthday dinner (her choice) of “chicken with the skin on it” (aka roasted chicken) “smashed tomatoes and gravy” (aka mashed potatoes and gravy).
We opened gifts.. and I was a little worried that what she said she “wanted” wouldn’t really be what she wanted, but she stuck with it..
A “horse house” (aka stable) and horses, from IFA.
(She fell in love when we went to get fall fertilizer. Of all things in all places…)
But she loved it!
We are so thankful for your spunkiness in our home Ashley, life simply wouldn’t be life without you!
