Week of Pics..

Well, the end of the week, at least..
The week was filled, mostly, of dealing with sick kids; i.e. a lot of Tylenol and nose-wiping... Lysol-ing, Clorox wipes, and hand washing, then sanitizing.. banish this cold!!
A "pooping in the tub" incident that led to a kitchen sink bath, so I could get her clean, and then, scrub the tub...
We are in soooo much trouble... Peyton discovered the power button on the TV. She has learned to respect the "no-no", but gives us her "no-no" finger (that's her little finger waving "no-no" at us..) in response. We are missing our very short-lived Sony that had the power button ON TOP of the TV.. what a novel idea!
Saturday we went to see the hotel. Many things are taking place down there.. they have the jacuzzi tubs all tiled (that will be my room.. either one ;), they both work for me!), the doors are mostly hung, the fireplace is almost all rocked, the doors are mostly hung... and here's where the girls are: in the pool area. They got the cement all poured (no more gravel!) and stamped. The girls call the hot tub "the hot pool"..
And today... LET THE WEEK OF BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS BEGIN!!
We went to Mom & Dad's for a delicious "Birthday Dinner" followed by this cake, expertly decorated by my sweet girls..
My silly mom..
I was telling her about my new wool pea coat, a self-purchased birthday gift :).. I was very proud of the deal I got.
"Where'd you get it from?"
"Victoria's Secret.. they had them on clearance for $49.99 and I got a $10.00 off coupon for my birthday.."
Thinking it was really a Martin Luther King Jr. sale.. she says, "Oh, so are they throwing a parade for your birthday too? Ha Ha Ha..." she laughs.
"No, seriously, I got a coupon for my birthday."
"You mean it wasn't a sale?"
"No.. do you think that I think the world revolves around me? That I think this whole Tuesday's events are really in honor of my birthday? That they are inagurating a new president just because it's my birthday?.. and, oh, that they will be having a ball because of my birthday too?"
We were both laughing pretty hard at this point.. we always kid like that..
Love my mom!
Will enjoy a breakfast with just some of my favorite family members tomorrow.. hope to enjoy a birthday dinner with my sweet hubby on my birthday.. that is if he isn't totally burned-out from un-loading and trying to find a home for 3 semis full of furniture for the hotel.. it's also crunch time for ordering all of the other goods..
I want to have an evening out with all of my buddies (who can or want to come) for my birthday.. I am thinking Friday.. so kiddos won't have school the next day.. any suggestions?

Thou shalt not covet..

..oh, but how I am..
I talked to Christie today on the phone.. normal, everyday kinda talk. I was telling her how I was doing pretty well on my "clean house Monday", trying to get that trend going again.. a goal for the year.. I told her I was almost done.. just dreading the vacuuming.. it was time for the kids to get out, I was getting Ash and Pey all ready to go when the phone rings again.. it was Christie.
"Don't go out in this, I'll get Lynn.. It's still snowing and I was going to go and get my kids.."
What a sweetie, eh?!
So Pey and Ash were standing by the window, waiting.. (I have another cute story about this, another time, perhaps?) Here's where my pic for the day fits in perfectly..When Christie shows up.. another sweet member of her family carried, yes CARRIED my ill shodden (that means shoes on the feet were not fitting for the white stuff falling from the sky and sticking to the cold ground..) child from the Kindergarten door to the cross walk.. thanks Hailey!!
But, it doesn't end there..
Christie was getting, what I thought to be my child, who I was prepared to carry up the driveway and into the house, because I had not gotten around to shoveling (see clean house Monday doesn't include the out of doors unless time permits..) but no.. she had in hand her most awesome and incredible DYSON!! She let me borrow her most awesome, most suck-y, eye-opening experience vacuum! Let me tell you...
I am trying to not be a covet-er.. the ten commandments are awesome..
I vacuumed my house.. most rooms twice. It was horrific, yet strangely satisfying at the same time, to see all the crap that my non-sucky vacuum leaves behind in it's non-sucky job..
I was sufficiently disgusted. And that was just my craft room.. berber carpet.. where does all of that stuff hide in berber carpet?
Thanks Christie!! You made my day, and I promise, I will give you back your vacuum tomorrow.. first thing!
And Mer.. you saw just what I want.. ;) 15 more days?!

Giggles..

My cousin, Bonnie, made a comment that someday, Peyton would laugh at this... the probability that she left that comment while I was waiting for my camera battery to charge is huge.. so huge I put it in the boldest largest font possible.. but about that camera battery, Santa should have brought us a spare..
Anywhoo.. Peyton seems to think the situation is funny.. now. Don't ask how she reacts when the big ol' ball comes a rollin' out.. which the ballistophobia is the clostest to the fear of balls.. it was fear of flying objects such as bullets.. what the name for fear of clowns (shudder..)?

She thinks it is even funnier watching herself watching it and laughing at it while she's watching.. we could go on and on and on...
Meanwhile...
The church became just a bit more true today..
We moved from 1-4 block time to 9-12 ;) Truth abounds!!
It was quite a lovely day indeed. It could have been a little easier if Peyton had slept more than she fussed last night. 4 am came and suddenly, in her little world, it was "playtime". I was one tired momma.. 4 maybe almost five hours of sleep?..
Here's pics from today and yesterday... oh how I wish I'd had my camera with me yesterday night... Christie, you MUST re-create and post ;)
...good times...
On to pictures of the day(s)..
Yesterday:We do stress oral hygiene.. no halitosis, gingivitis, or cavities allowed.. start 'em young!!
And today:
Lately this is Lynn and Mer's favorite thing to do together.. their little quip to everything now is: "Oh.. that's awfully sweet of you, but I'd rather be KINGED!!"
So blessed to have such an awesome husband who lives to play with his kids...

Picture a day..

Look at these two cuties!!
They are my "picture a day" for today..
Picture a day is just a way to document what seems to be those little everyday occurrences that take place, but sometimes end up meaning a lot. It helps us to remember the stages of our lives, the little things, the details. We usually take pictures of great or special events, and forget the day to day. This is what I am going to do to keep up my 2008 word "embrace", and carry it forward into 2009.. haven't really settled on a word for 2009.. do you have yours?
These two had such a fun night and day together. They kept asking me if they looked like sisters. When I said yes, they would ask me if they could pass for twins.. hmmm... close.
Sophie asked me to do her hair like I did Lynn's the other day.. I first made her promise she wouldn't go taking it out if she didn't like it :) and that she would show Lynn how not to cry while hair is being brushed and styled. She held true.. Lynn wanted hers done the same way.
I loved playing with Sophie's hair! Lynn's is so long and thick.. it's hard to get it to do what I want or to stay where I put it.. Sophie's did just what I told it to do..
