Summer sayings..

"Mom, can I have ________________?"
Fill in that blank with any kind of summertime treat your imagination can conjure up.
I should have included a picture of my freezer!
The follow to this frequently asked question is my answer, which most of the time is a generous "yes", and quickly tagged onto the end of that is any of the following:
"Eat it at the table."
"Eat it on the deck."
"Please.. eat it outside.."
And one of those are always followed with, ".. and throw your garbage away in the garbage can."
What, just what, might possibly happen if my requests aren't taken into serious consideration?
- sticky floors, sticky with the tiny, but very sticky, drips of an "Otter Pop". Have I mentioned how sticky those are?
- garbage, all over, despite my directions to throw the garbage away, in a garbage can.
- and last, but certainly not the least of this summertime issue would be the youngest sister...

Her ability to climb onto any sturdy (and the sometimes un-sturdy) object..

To gain access to whatever her little heart desires..

Yup.. eating the left-overs.. this case a melted "Fat Boy" with a fork..

Melted ice cream + fork..
Good combination for the makings of a fun clean-up project..

And a bath.
I am considering putting my directions in vinyl lettering on the wall in every room of my house..
That way I can point.
It might help them learn to read better! :)

439...

...pilot holes that is...
The deck is nearly complete! I can hardly wait...
To help the process move along a little faster, I drilled some pilot holes to help the fastening go quicker, and less cures-filled.
I drilled at least 439... those are how many need to be filled with screws now.
I ask myself, was this worth it? Spending my day, drilling so many pilot holes?
I answer myself, yes... one afternoon spent drilling pilot holes equals one evening with a drastically less swear count coming from Merrill's mouth.
I did have to sacrifice reading/treadmill time.. Breaking Dawn, here I come...
I got an accessory that I have wanted ever since I saw Open Range... or was is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?
Robert's... 50% off one item coupon. Stacy and I had a fun girls day out yesterday.
By the way.. Cricut packages are on sale there... $139.99... guess what I have been seriously considering...
And last but not least... proof that my girls do have some of my DNA: they love these...
Merrill hates cinnamon, but we girls sure love these yummy treats!
And Merrill has a surprise for me when he gets home?!
It's a good day...

Favorite Summertime treat...

Let's say that the way Grandma would:
fav-o-rite....
my most fav-o-rite:
A warm tomato fresh from the garden, sliced, complete with salt and pepper...
But since I am a sweet -toothed girl... and I can only pick one... I thought long and hard...
What can I really get only in the summer time, and tastes soooo good in the summertime...A cherry Icee... sure I can get them at Target any time of the year, but they taste better in the summer, and they taste even better in the exciting atmosphere of Lagoon...
