Some jibber jabber for your enjoyment..

Here are some of Peyton's late night antics that keep us giggling..  (ignore my annoying voice please.  What is that scientific explanation for why we hear ourselves differently?..)
Peyton has recently learned how to say her own name (first and last), and the names of other people in our family.  She kind of gets stuck on Ashley, and Lynn is "Lou" due to our calling her Lynnie-lou all the time..

Table manners: Peyton edition..

Sharing mealtime with Peyton is always entertaining, and sometimes a bit scary.
Thought I would share what she thinks is important at mealtime.

Listen politely to dinner conversation..

Take your time, enjoy all the flavors a dish has to offer.

Immediately let your dinner companions know what you think of particular fare.

Utensils are overrated.

It's okay to crack a few jokes..

Did I already mention that utensils are overrated?

Woo!! Woo!!

Peyton has a new little word, of sorts.. no better way to describe it.



This morning, while going about our daily task of emptying the dishwasher, remember that Peyton loves to help me with that chore :), she busted it out.
She was taking out the plates, one by one, examining the surface which food was once on, then handing it to me. I would say "Thank you!" after each one..
She got to our "little kid dishes" which are adorned with princesses and Cookie Monster, and such. Superman was among Ashley's prized collection until Peyton discovered the joy of throwing things from her seated position in the HIGH chair. Needless to say, the Superman plate is no longer with us. IKEA's kid plates are now our new standard issue plate.
As Peyton took out the first of the princess plates, she inspected it, and said, "Woo! Woo! Woo!" and then proceeded to hand it to me..
It was just too cute..

Good for a laugh!

Lynn's teacher put together a DVD slide show of all the events this year in Kindergarten, put to music they listened to in class. Very cute!!
Lynn has been singing these songs all year, giggling while singing.
It was cute, we just didn't quite get it though.
Now, we do.
She's always good for a laugh.

It got stuck in my head yesterday, and I woke up this morning with it still in there.. it's competing with "Rock Lobster" for the song stalking status.
Ashley loves these songs now too.. and so we seem to have a choir on our hands, singing cheerful, silly children's songs.
After listening to this song over and over again, Ashley seems to think that raising her arm, and pointing to her armpit means "I love you"..
So I guess they are both good for a laugh!

A new author...

Lynn's class is at the stage in their phonetic spelling, where they are writing and illustrating their own books.. so fun!
So I thought I would share a reading of her first book.. by the author herself!

Can't get enough..

This toy was recently re-discovered.. we packed it away, and the girls found it.
Peyton LOVES it!!
She thinks it's her own personal music machine.. we can't get enough of this song or the "'A' says 'a' and 'a' says 'ah'.. every letter makes a sound..."
Really.. can you read the sarcasm about how we just can't get enough? But we'll take more dancing.. :)

Little Lakers...

Little Lakers was so fun tonight..
The girls did well.. and Ash.. what a ham! All I have to say is, at least she didn't pout!

Lynn and Sophie's video isn't the best quality, and to be honest, I couldn't see Lynn very well in the first place..


Here's Hallie.. she was in the top four of my favorites to watch ;)..
Otherwise, the Lakers got their bums handed to them on a platter.. still, a fun night!

Giggles..

My cousin, Bonnie, made a comment that someday, Peyton would laugh at this... the probability that she left that comment while I was waiting for my camera battery to charge is huge.. so huge I put it in the boldest largest font possible.. but about that camera battery, Santa should have brought us a spare..
Anywhoo.. Peyton seems to think the situation is funny.. now. Don't ask how she reacts when the big ol' ball comes a rollin' out.. which the ballistophobia is the clostest to the fear of balls.. it was fear of flying objects such as bullets.. what the name for fear of clowns (shudder..)?

She thinks it is even funnier watching herself watching it and laughing at it while she's watching.. we could go on and on and on...
Meanwhile...
The church became just a bit more true today..
We moved from 1-4 block time to 9-12 ;) Truth abounds!!
It was quite a lovely day indeed. It could have been a little easier if Peyton had slept more than she fussed last night. 4 am came and suddenly, in her little world, it was "playtime". I was one tired momma.. 4 maybe almost five hours of sleep?..

Lately this is Lynn and Mer's favorite thing to do together.. their little quip to everything now is: "Oh.. that's awfully sweet of you, but I'd rather be KINGED!!"
So blessed to have such an awesome husband who lives to play with his kids...

Ballistophobia..

Lynn is afraid of spiders.. Ashley is afraid of the dark.. This is Peyton's irrational fear..

Peyton's Propeller...

When Peyton gets stuck in the bouncer, and no one is there to bounce it for her, she has found a way to bounce herself. We call it her "Propeller Leg"... and a few spit bubbles... enjoy!
