Events of the day..

So here's how the day went down..
Preschool.
Kindergarten.
Haircuts!!
I repaired some bracelets for my friend Alesha, earned a free cut, got a coupon for my B-Day, got one for half off.. nice..
Lynn was the first to get in "the hot seat".. she was quite nervous over her two inch trim.. she has hair to spare!!
Ash went next.. yup, that's "Alvin the Alligator" with her.. she is so "I don't care".. I had free reign to have what ever I wanted done with her hair! It is now even.. her last haircut, back in April, wasn't so even.. neither was mine.
Peyton found a new place to play..
My closet!
I now have pics of all three of them around this age enjoying my closet..
Me and my girls, kinda a shot of our new cuts.. I sorta already miss my inch of hair that is now in a trash can :(.. but Merrill likes it..
Now everyone is sleeping.. ahhh. let's hope it stays that way.. I need some!
Love Ashley's little laugh pic..
We went to Kaitlyn's Lakette family performance, they are going to regionals tomorrow. They did so good! It's always fun to have Grandma P. crack us up too.. afterward, as we were driving home, past the InstaCare, I looked, I am so sick of this ongoing cold. My throat started to hurt so bad during the last dance, I had to check out the InstaCare. TWO CARS.
I was going.
Good news, no wait.
Bad news, not so fav doc there.
Good news, he gave me a free sample of a steroid inhaler, I just don't need a prescription, the last time I used my inhaler, 2002, before I even got pregnant with Lynn.
No strep, but thank heavens he listened to me and didn't do a culture..
Just a nasty virus.
He gave me an antibiotic to help, he said that if it's gone on for this long, it might be the onset of something bad.
He kept asking me if there was anything else he could do. If I wanted any tests, if this was the outcome I had hoped for.
Gee... maybe he was bored?
He also told me to get rest, that's what I need to get better.
To which I replied, "Can you prescribe a sedative for my kids? " ;)
Hee hee..
Other good news, my insurance, get this, paid for my prescription.. granted it was only $4.. but hey, I'll take free any day!!
Maybe IHC heard it was my birthday this whole week :)
Now I am off to enjoy a nice bubble bath with some coconut lime gel that someone got me :)
Good luck tomorrow Katie!!

Little Lakers...

Little Lakers was so fun tonight..
The girls did well.. and Ash.. what a ham! All I have to say is, at least she didn't pout!

Lynn and Sophie's video isn't the best quality, and to be honest, I couldn't see Lynn very well in the first place..

Here's Hallie.. she was in the top four of my favorites to watch ;)..
Otherwise, the Lakers got their bums handed to them on a platter.. still, a fun night!

Here's some pics..
Before the performance.. a little signed sugar..Her incentive.. it's in her hands :)
Lynn and grandpa..
She's such a goof ball!
MiKell.. or Spanky.. or Kitty (Meow!!).. head Cheerleader for the Sophie clan..
Lynn showing her split skills..
Me and Merrill... Pey was wiped out.. Merrill says once she knew the Lakers were gonna lose it, she just let go..

What up?!

We've been keeping busy... that's how life is!
We had josh over the other night. Boys sure are fun! I just wonder if he feels the same way about little girls (note Ashley's expression)... our little girls to be more specific.
Last night, Mer's mom and dad took the two older girls to a Bonneville game to watch Kaitlyn and MiKell. We enjoyed dinner at El Matador with Pey. Everyone there missed the girls :(. It was chilly at the game, despite me bundling them up... but they sure had a good time! Love the shirts! Thanks Darlene and Dixon!
We also had a hands on (or should I say mouth on) lesson why we don't leave certain things where Pey can reach... Lynn has a hard time remembering this... her blue marker was the victim.
Today at Super Saturday for our Tri-Ward Relief Society activity, I finished Peyton's scarf. I had finished her beanie a while ago... this was the closest I could get to "Peyton Green"... I wish I could have found something more vibrant... It was fun to sit and visit!
Now she is ready for all of this cold weather and the little bit of snow we got today. Yes, snow.
We had such a darling speaker while we ate lunch today. She was the mission President's wife, Sister Joyce. What a cute lady! She said so many things that I want to remember forever! Christie said it best when she said, "I just wish I had a tape recorder!" I agree.
She talked about how we are all daughters of God. That we should be treated as such. She talked about personal revelation, Atonement experiences, how we shouldn't feel like we should have to do "everything". She also talked about priorities. I learned many important lessons.
One lesson:
"Is there a dog in the room?"
She related an experience she had with a young woman when she was teaching seminary. This girl spoke to her mother in such a disrespectful tone, Sister Joyce asked her, "Is there a dog in the room? Because I know you wouldn't speak to your mother that way." I'm gonna pull that one out on the kids when they get mouthy with me, with one another too.
Another lesson:
"Be Still."
When I am running around as a mother, I need to be still. Sure, there are lots of things that need to be done, many things that I want to do. However, I need to pause, be still, and listen. I need to be able to receive promptings and revelation and I can't make myself too busy to hear.
I was so thankful for this afternoon. I felt like a half-full cup. After going there, I feel full to the brim!
Merrill was so sweet and took such good care of all the girls, holding Peyton and snuggling her as she napped!
I am so blessed!

Ahhhh.. Saturday...

I have been waiting for today since last week. This week, my calendar was FULL. Everyday had at least two things going on, not just ten minute deals either... In High School, the football team had this week called "hell week". If you could make it through this week, without quitting, you pretty much made the team. I think I made the team.. it is all done.
So just being able to do whatever I want to do today, and not go anywhere, is heaven.
Our big deal things were:
Birthday Parties (Happy Birthdays Jaclyn, Dad, Joe, & Soph!)
Lagoon (gotta use those passes!)
Little Lakettes (The girls were awesome!)
Back to School Night and Family Fun Fair (Way to go President Jefferies!!!)
...and now we are getting ready for Powell...
So, here's my week in pics...
Sunday, tried out some new and exciting hair... my first ever attempt at a messy bun on Lynn...Back to school night's "Family Fun Fair"... Lynn picked pretty face painting...
We went to the fair after she met her teacher, and after Little Lakette practice. She was so confident and friendly with her teacher, it made me feel so good to see her so grown up and confident. She probably would have chatted away if I'd let her! While Ash picked scary... they had a blast!Little Lakettes... what can I say? Ash wasn't so much into it, well, when I was there to observe anyway. She would go and attempt to dance but then come back to me like the world was falling on top of her... I implemented bribery. Worked like a charm... they were both so cute, and Lynn was awesome. She makes my eyes sting, how grown up she is!
After...
With their rewards...
Made a bunch of lollipops... it all started when Lynn asked, "Mom, how do they make suckers?" and I showed her! Peyton loves them..
