(Breathe..)

It seems as if summer has blown by (not that it is over by any means) and has gone too fast.

I regret that the next two weeks of life as I know it, are far fuller than I want them to be.  Far too full.

The summer I had dreamed of had more resting and relaxing type stuff in it.  It had more days in the sun and sprinklers, me behind the camera a good portion of it, at least one camping trip? and more time spent as a family.

Don’t get me wrong, it has been good and all..  we HAVE spent time together as a family doing lots of fun stuff, I just thought there would be more “down time”, more “at home” time.

Now the school year lurks right around the corner.

Homework.

Having to wake up before 8 am.

Making lunches way before lunchtime…

I love my life, but I also love having my kiddos at home.  With me.

I wouldn’t mind being like a pioneer or other early settler, having the kids go to school only during the winter months when there is little to do around the homestead..  leave them free for when the sun is out and it’s warm..

I like that idea until I hear my name said in that tattle-tell whiney voice, another offense taken at something one sister or another has done…

Then I am perfectly happy with school coming.

I wasn't ready for school to end in May I still had things to do but then we it started in August I wasn't ready for it to start as I still had things to do.
So I understand how you feel. I hate it that school starts so early here it's so hot for the kids. Enjoy your last few weeks of summer.

I know school starting is so bittersweet. What happened to school not starting till Sept? Our school starts next tues. Here's to enjoying the last little bits of summer, and at least labor day is around the corner.

I know the feeling! We start school in one week. I'll miss the kiddos but the daily break is good for my sanity. :)

Yes, the whining makes me long for school too, but I know I will miss our lazy summer days.

I could copy this post and put it in my blog, because I know exactly how you feel!! Especially, the tell-tale whiny tattling voice...
